Resolved Question

Are ANY computers actually made in the USA?

Nov 20, 2011 1:22AM PST

How do you know for sure? What I mean is how can I be sure before I buy?

The Dell Inspiron I will be returning said it was "assembled" in Mexico, but the keyboard & speakers that came with it say made in China. Can't find anything that actually states where the computer is made.

And even the militarized laptops have components from other lands. Sometime about 1 to 2 decades ago it was decided to let this go offshore. Well discussed.

That's sad. I used to sell the components so I know they're

from offshore, but I was hoping we still made at least one here. I just returned the 'new' Dell. It was so cheaply made compared to the 9 yr old Dell I still have. Key board didn't light up (caps & num lock), and had a cheap feel, as did the computer housing. It was super fast for the 2 days it worked.
Thanks for the reply.
