I can't seem to find any reviews anywhere, so if you know of a full review I would greatly appreciate it if you would tell me. If you own it, I would love to hear your opinions on it.

Not worth it...

Sorry to burst your bubble but in my opinion the 402 camcorder just isn't worth buying. It's basically the same thing as the regular gmini 402 but it comes with a crappy 1.2 megapixel camera and a built-in speaker. MP3 players and cameras are two things that shouldn't be together. Just get the regular Gmini 402 for a lot less and you probably already have a camera in your phone so use that or buy a real camera. With that said, check up on the new Zen Vision: M, it's got all the hype and features. Anyways just read the user reviews on the 402 camcorder here: http://reviews.cnet.com/Archos_Gmini_402_Camcorder_20GB/4505-6499_7-31595017.html

I agree, but it's a good idea

A camera/camcorder is a great idea to have in a PVP, but this one's not really worth it. Like $150 more just for a crappy camera. If it were $50-100 cheaper and had, say, a 3-megapixel camera, I'd consider it cause I would like something that's an mp3 player first, then video, then camera. But yeah, I would just go with the normal Gmini 402. Unless you want a camcorder to show off to your friends (which, admittedly, would be really cool).

I'd rather have more battery life and a bigger screen, Archos.

It serves all my needs. The camera on that isnt very good. IT may become convient sometiems but otherwise, its power consuming and useless.

help needed from an owner of gmini402
Jan 9, 2011 1:06AM PST

Am unable to view the files (pics and vdos) on the hard drive (desktop) when it is connected through USB. The folders like "Pictures", "Videos" etc cannot be seen. They are not 'hidden', but they are there, because I am unable to create another folder called "Pictures" in the Drive. Anything copied onto the gmini402 from the computer HDD can be viewed. But the pics etc shot with the device are not seen on the computer. They are seen on the device though.
Pl help.
