Archos 606 WiFi Can not detect wireless signal

I got the archos 605 wifi 80 gi with firmware 2.1.04 And when ever i make a Ad Hoc server on my laptop i can get other computer to connect to me but my archos doesn't even see any connection. It doesn't even see the wireless connection that my computer sees any reason why this is happening. I been trying to get help with this for about 2 days now and i only got it for 2 days. So far its not working as advertised.
