Archos 605 - How to Sync and not lose files

Jun 5, 2008 5:50PM PDT

Is it possible to sync my Archos to WMP, and not lose files on the Archos that I have deleted from WMP? Due to memory restrictions on my laptop, I would like to put all my music on the Archos and keep a tighter selection on the laptop.

Please advise.

Just a question. Where's your BACKUP?

If you do want you want and your Archos breaks down or gets lost, you lost your only copy. Maybe not the best idea?

I can't answer your question, because I don't know the sync program you use. My wife's player uses Windows Explorer to move files around, so there's no automatic delete between the player and a folder (or a music library) on the hard disk. But maybe there is with Archos software or WMP, whatever you use.

I'm not too bothered about the back-up as most of the music is on CD anyway. Just need to release some memory on the laptop.

I am syncing the Archos to Windows Media Player, where I have around 5000 tracks, on Vista 11.

It's good to read you thought about backup. So many people don't.

But I still can't help with your original question. I'm sure other members can.

AFAIK, not possible with WMP.

You'll have to explore some other way to sync.
