As in well done to a crisp. ARC in other words is hit and miss and makers seem to not be getting the message we'd like to see it work every time.
Why not make it a reason to return the products until you get what you want?

I have a LG PH6700 Smart Plasma TV and I can't get ARC to work to a Sony STR-DH740 7.2 AV Receiver. I've gone to audio settings and chosen external speaker on the TV, I have a ARC ready HDMI cable from media bridge going from HDMI/ARC port 1 on TV to the HDMI out on the receiver, and I've turned Control for HDMI to on, on the receiver and nothing. This would be to get audio for the Smart TV apps (like Netflix, 3D content etc.). It works when I use a digital optical cable, trying to not have to do that.
Thoughts? Thx in advance!
