Just thought to mention I have had 100% success with Apricorn and would recommend it to anyone wanting to clone a SATA hdd. After having been told by others that it was unlikely to work, I am chuffed to say that my £34 wasn't wasted. And it copied the Recovery Partition too !
Many thanks to you Rob Happy

My other fave is Clonezilla but I find folk want something more modern. This seems to be worth it and I am guessing you got the USB adapter too.

Yes I did get the adapter. It all came properly sealed in one of those typically difficult plastic packagings that you don't want to cut but have no other way to get in.

Cant help wondering if the Apricorn software would work if you were attempting to do the copy onto an external drive via a normal USB to Micro USB cable ?

Also, in the case where, as I have done, Cloned a virgin state re-install onto the new HDD and then fully updated and customised the new HDD, would it also work if I Cloned the new HDD back to the old, as a Standby swappable back up if it was ever needed ? Should do I suppose ....
Thanks

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
