apps will not update

My apps will not update on iphone or ipad. Cannot install new ones

Which model iPhone/iPad and iOS are you using ?? If you have an older model, you may not be able to update some apps.

(NT) Iphone 4 all software updates were successful. Up to ios 6.

Did you try the old remove the old before trying to install the new method?

I did not delete anything as I am unable to install anything new.
I click update, put in PW, it says installing and then one by one they all go back to original "update" screen

(NT) So why not try the old fashioned remove then install?
