appmgmts.dll info?

Jul 12, 2004 1:58PM PDT

Winpatrol noted a new service on my computer tied
in with svchost.exe It is appmgmts.dll
It says it's an Application Management that provides
software installation services such as assign, publish, and remove. But, there is no name or
company given. It says it is located in my WINDOWS/System32 file. I have XP and all the necessary updated anti-virus, spybot SD/Adaware/Spysweeper etc. I've looked everywhere for info. on this. Does anyone know if it is a legitimate .dll file or a disguised trojan? Thanks.

Re: Thanks for the info.!

(I had searched on Google, Msn, and yahoo,
and although the file was listed, there was never
an in-depth description. One site even said it was
an "imposter" file and should be appmgmt.dll (without
the "s".)) So, your suggestion helped me. I had been
looking for some sort of .dll database.
Thanks again!

Girl,

A search of Google gives you lots of information about that file. Click on the link below and then search through the listed links there:

Google Search For "appmgmts.dll"

Hope this helps.
