Application Will Not Open / Start

by tombauman / April 21, 2009 1:42 AM PDT

I have a download program "PFConfig" which will not open. It worked once and stopped. I have tried to open with the desktop icon and from the program file. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have tried with Zone Alarm shut down. I have uninstalled the .net programs. I have tried a restore. Their support team is unable to advise what to do.

I am running Windows XP Professional SP3 with Zone Alarm Extreme (Firewall shut off). I have googled this topic but don't understand what is answered and am affraid to try solutions.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Tom

https://portforward.com/store/pfconfig.cgi seems to find you buy it so talk to those that made it and handed money over to.

"Their support team is unable to advise what to do."

Then it's another mystery till more clues arrive. However today I see too many machines damaged by P2P use. Why would I need this software at all?

Attempt to setup port forwarding. Most can do this without said software. Sorry for the terse words but this software is never needed.

1. Run it from a command prompt and see if there are any (error) messages.
2. You say you googled the topic. What search terms did you use and what were the suggested solutions that you don't understand or don't want to try?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
