Application to switch between monitor resolution profiles

by sat_mad / October 1, 2009 4:01 AM PDT

Hi folks,

My other half is wanting to connect her 16:10 ratio laptop to a 4:3 monitor, but is having difficulties controlling the resolutions when switching between the two ratios.

The laptop runs Windows XP and has an Intel graphics utility available in the tray, but it doesn't always display the native resolutions in the available options.

Does anyone know of any software that will sit on the desktop or tray, that will allow a quick switch between two different pre-determined screen resolutions?

I have seen a few freeware applications that might be suitable, be would prefer a personal recommendation of an app that has been used if possible.

Many thanks.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
