Question

Application to split MP4

by wfzen / May 29, 2013 2:02 AM PDT

Is there a working application to split (without re-encoding) MP4 into multiple pieces based on time-code?

I use VirtualDub for AVI and it works well but not for MP4. Some claim that avidemux works for MP4 but I couldn't get it to process MP4 properly. The ones created lose the navigation that you can't scroll to different time anymore.

Any new development?

Thanks,

I've seen such but it did run it through conversion so no. All this has some prior discussions so I don't want to upset you but MP4 is a rather non-standard thing or rather pick one you like standard so it's rather tough to find who is the true MP4 encoder/decoder standard holder.

In the circles I run with CCTV work, we admit all this and then just re-encode to what our playback engine demands.

Spliting MP4

Avidemux is the best and it works with MP4. Maybe you did not configure it correctly. It splits mp4, mpg, avi, flv and it is very easy to use. If you installed it, use the toolbar and the markers A and B. Avidemux has several tools to benefit its users. There are preset output formats under the 'Auto' tab, these include: Apple Ipod, Iphone, Sony Playstation Portable, DVD and Microsoft Zune.
Try uninstalling and installing it again.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
