Application not found

I get this message when I try to open a picture attachment (that I sent to myself as a test).

When I first right click on the attachment and open it, it says the message is a plain text. and then when I go to open it it says "application not found".

Please help if you can. Thank you.

Tell something more, please.

- What email client?
- What type of picture?
- What application would you expect to open such an attachment?
- Save the attachment to your hard disk. Can you open the saved file by using File>Open (or equivalent) in that application?
- Does it open when you double click in My Computer? If not, what happens?
- Is it identical (file name, file size, file type) to the original file?
