Not running it might help quite well.

Given only that message to work with? Google it?

Unless there are more clues to narrow it down, such as the name of the app and more, there's not much to do yet.

Some folk think that "this message" means "do this to fix it" but the message you gave appears to have thousands of causes. That's why only more clues may help to narrow it down.

Answer
what system?

such message is typical when rundll32.exe is the wrong one for the program. It's a program file that's been around a long time through various windows and this error happens most often when some older program is loaded to a newer windows and it puts in it's own rundll32 file, which is since been deprecated by newer windows. The older program may NOT have replaced the file and instead just can no longer run under the newer one.

For the program, the fix is to place the rundll32 file the program has into it's own folder and not in the system or system32 folders, while leaving the actual rundll32 file for the newer version of windows alone. You can run a search for all rundll32 files and see if you have the proper one in your system folders, or an earlier one. Right clk and properties may give you a clue also.

Here's a way to at least get back the proper rundll32 file and if the program doesn't run then, search it's installation files and find any rundll or rundll32 file that came with it and put instead in that programs folder under the Program Files folder.

replace the "u" with "you" in above line. I'd give the link but that site's been blocked at CNET. The video will show you how to correct things.
