Application Hang

Jun 27, 2007 2:00PM PDT

Hi every body
I installed a Redeon 9550 Graphics Card to get quicker Graphics results and reduce the load on my CPU
Also downloaded Intels Aplication accelerator
My problem since the installations is when my Computer is idle for 5 - 10 min.and I try to start an application it hangs it doesen't matter which application it hangs and what ever makes it hang ties up my all Computer resources
In order to release it from this death grip I have to press ALT Ctrl Del Task manager comes up and my applicaton comes alive
I run XP PRO on a D845GRG Intel Board with 2.80 GB CPU & 768 MB Ram
Have dicontinued onboard graphics drivers

Had the same kind of problem although I [supposedly] had a compatible Intel chipset. It seemed to be causing conflict with the DMA settings. You might try restting the DMA setting. I found it easier to just uninstall the Application Accelerator.

It also seems to conflict with the installation of some PLEXTOR firmware updates.

Hope this is helpful.

Application Hang

Thanx Charlie
I tried the DMA reset without results also uninstalled the Intel Application Accelerator still no result
Now at Bootup (black screen)cursor prompt flashing for about 5-10 sconds seems to indicate the Computer is looking for Graphics Drivers
After Desktop is loaded my Computer reverts to black screen for a count of two seconds comes back with the Task bar partly blacked out
for about one or two seconds after that all applications run fine until the computer sits idle for five to ten min. the computer is in a frozen state the only way to reactivate is to go to Alt Ctrl Del to
activate the Task Manager
At shutdown the Redeon 9550 control center shuts down separatly
