Application Folder in Mac OS X Lion

Feb 25, 2012 10:05PM PST

I have installed Mac OS X Lion and have noticed that the application folder no longer looks or acts like a normal finder window. In particular there are no disclosure triangles and I am unable to modify the column widths. Does anyone have an explanation as to why Apple has done this? In all previous versions of the software the application folder performed exactly like other finder windows.

FOUND THE ANSWER

I discovered the answer. Each of these folders had been arranged by name through the "Arrange" drop down list. As soon as I changed that setting to none all returned to normal.
