Application Error--driving me to distraction--

by rdatrader / April 26, 2006 11:48 PM PDT

For some time now my system has been having application errors with some regularity. I continually get the identicla error message and no matter what I do I can't seem to correct it.I am loosing important files every time it happens and the applications automatically close.

Faulting application explorer.exe, version 60.2900.2180, faulting module Kernel32.dll, version 5.1.200, 2180,
fault address 0x0001eb33
I know this is somewhat common so if anyone has some way to repair the problem, I would appreciate the help.

Thanks in advance.

P4 w/1meg RAM Win XP pro sp2 all updates with tons of protection--just scanned again w/house call, MS anti spyware, Spybot S&D, Avast, and am running through a router.

Run regular spyware/malware scans as well as anti-virus - I ask this because it's no good having the programmes if you don't use them!

If there is nothing showing, try downloading Ewido from, update it if necessary then log off the 'net, reboot to Safe Mode and do a full scan with Ewido, delete anything it finds, then reboot to normal mode.

If this has fixed the problem, fine, if not, back up all your irreplaceable data, then perform a repair install of the O/S.

The system is clean. It has been scanned for maleware and viri with Ewido/Skybot S&D/Adaware/Avast/Microsoft and more (including House-call).

Running SFC seems to help for a while but the problem keeps re-occuring.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
