Application Error 1005

Jun 8, 2009 5:37AM PDT

I am looking for some assistance as I have recently bought the Sims 3 for my daughters birthday and when trying to install it it gets near the end of installation and stops.

I sent a error report and followed instructions leading me to a problem file with application error 1005.

The file is D:\support\redist\dotnetfx.exe

The report said that it might be driver problems but I understand nothing about this!!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If dotnetfx fails to install

I am not too sure what information you require or even whether I could find it!!

The system requirements on the back of the game stated Windows XP or Vista (I USE XP)

2GH processor (I HAVE A PENTIUM 4 3GHz PROCESSOR)

1GH of RAM (I THINK I HAVE 2.99 GHz of RAM)

6.1 GB of space (I HAVE 80GB OF SPACE)

128MB video card (I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS ONE)

These requirements though are identical to SEGA Football Manager 2009 which my son recently bought and installed on the same machine without any problems.

The computer was built for me and I don't know any make or model details and don't know how to find them.

Should not install.

I read where 6.5GB of disk space is needed as a minimum while you listed 6.1GB.

The install may fail in some odd way.
