APPLICATION CALLED PCFTP.EXE HOLDING UP EVERYTHING!!!

I am what you would call a power computer user/ hacker and i havent figgured this one out yet.
I have this process that insists on running called pcftp.exe. It takes all of my cpu power and also it gradually builds up its memory usage to over 400MB! It almost frezez my computer, im lucky to be typing this. I followed this file back to find its location wich is in Windows/tasks but it isnt in there. Ive turned on the "show hidden files" but it still isnt there. I also have made a full system search to find it and cant. All my spy ware and ad ware programs never find it, but my norton anti virus catches it but cannon delete it (thats how i found out its location). O have tryied to block it, dosent work, and i have even gone in safe mode, BUT IT STILL IS RUNNING AND I CANNOT DELEATE IT! my computer IS my life and this is driving me insane, if anyone even knows what the heck pcftp.exe even is i would be eternally greatfull.

Hi !

Some ideas....

Looked on the net for this exe.....could find some sites when searching for pcftp only....on hacker-sites !...so it doesent appear to be a friendly one !
Maybe this scanner could work......

Have you tried to download and run Hijackthis...?

Be carefull with this...if in doubt, try to send the log file to a site with a community, that accept theese logfiles...(not here)

Good luck !

Assuming you use Windows XP the msinfo32 list of active tasks or running services should tell you where the exe-file is. Then boot from the Windows XP CD, choose the recovery console, and rename or delete it.

Doesn't sound too difficult, but it might go wrong somewhere. Then try the clean boot troubleshooting procedures for Windows XP from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316434

Hope this helps.
