Applicaation error

Jul 31, 2007 11:45PM PDT

I've been having this problem recently which never occured before. During a certain application i get this application error.

The instruction at "0x00884a9f" referenced memory at
"0x0d2d1000". The memory could not be "written".

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

This never happened before. I've done a system restore to a date before this error began to occur. But this did not fix the problem. I've done anti-virus,anti-spyware scans which also didn't fix the the problem.

Additionally along with this error, i have a problem when connecting my laptop to my TV. Whenever i have the resolution at maximum the screen shifts to the left. As a result a black line about a inch thick appears on the right hand side of the screen. This problem has coincided with the application error above. None of these problems occured before it's just been happening recently.

Any help on how to solve these problems would be well appreciated.

What application? What feature of said application triggers this? Did you report it as a bug to it's author?

Aplication error.

It's soccer game(PES6.exe). As for the other stuff you requested i'm pretty clueless. This problem never occured before but it has happened at the same time as the laptop to TV problem occured.

the TV problem
Aug 1, 2007 2:40AM PDT

i've tried contacting the maker regarding this problem and will await their reply.

however i'm still concerned about the laptop to LCD problem, which is pretty annoying. I can't set the settings to max resolution as the screen shifts to the left as a result leaves a black column on the right. This never happened before. Do you have any ideas on how to fix that problem?

Thanks.

Are you aware of setting the refresh rates?
Aug 1, 2007 2:47AM PDT

Buried in Display Properties is a setting for the refresh rate. Since there is no standard for this control panel all I can do is note it so you can go fishing for it. The display you note is typical if you send a signal to some display that is not supported. So it's up to us to adjust not only the number of pixels but the refresh rate that the display supports.

i never muddled around with any other the othr monitor settings bar the resolution. there's only one option for the refresh rate and that is 60Hz. as i have said before this problem never occured before it just happened all of a sudden. any other ideas?

many thanks.

Sorry no.

Your post only tells "my laptop to my TV." The forum note asks for more details which you have elected to omit. This means I can only give general answers that may or may not help.

You can use SYSTEM RESTORE (see your help and support on the start button) and try to go back to when it worked.

Ok a recurring issue with that connection is when...
Aug 1, 2007 3:45AM PDT

The owner tried to exceed 800x600 over a connection other than a HDMI connection. You didn't tell exactly which setting you tried other than maximum or such.

http://www.epcbuyer.com/products.asp?recnumber=6011 notes you may get 1024x768. Be sure to set the MORE tab, OVERRIDE button in DXDIAG (run that!) to 60 as well.

As to details I decline to write long interviews. It's up to you to supply the details. If this is too much then you have to consider this is all volunteer so I want members to apply themselves so I don't have to write long passages.

anything up to 1024 by 768 is fine. the other two options after that are 1280 by 800 and 1360 by 768 both makes the screen shift to the left leaving the inch thick black column.

Here's a picture of the problem.

Sorry I could not find specs for VGA (PC) beyond
Aug 1, 2007 4:23AM PDT

Good luck on this one in but again my links on that display stopped at 1024x768 at 60Hz. Yes the video in th PC can do more but it shouldn't work.
