I am yet to see a pc laptop as stylinsh as the apple powerbooks and I have done my fair share of searching. You have to pay the price for a good looking pc laptop. Try checking out Alienware, IBM and Toshiba Qosmios for good looking laptops. They are all expensive and they dont look anyhting like the powerbooks but they still look great (I personally like the IBM's and Qosmios).

As for your concern about running as broad a range of programs on a mac as you could on a pc. Any program that you can find for a pc, chances are that you can find one that does the same thing for a mac (most of the time anyway), especially nowadays since they have gained alot in popularity. Also, most of the large companys like ADOBE make their software for both systems. But if you plan on playing video games, thats one area where you will have trouble with the mac.

Hope that helps,
Jordan
