Question

Apple Mail graphics not showing

May 30, 2015 3:54AM PDT

I have an iMac OS10.8.5. For the last couple of months, many (not all) graphics in Apple Mail emails come out as small blue squares with a question mark inside, which is very annoying. In Mail prefs under Viewing I have checked Display remote images in HTML messages. I have checked with my ISP and they say no problem their end. What is especially strange is that my wife, who has a separate profile on the same computer and shares my email address, doesn't have this problem at all. It seems to depend on the sender, for some senders I always get blue squares, for others graphics are fine.

Can anyone please help.

Michael

Those senders are usually sending non-standard inline graphics. This issue is well done and there is no single cure today. If folk use some Microsoft email client, that.... is a common cause I run into. Must others work around MSFT's messes?

I don't think this problem has anything to do with Microsoft or senders. As mentioned, my wife has separate profile on same computer and doesn't have this problem, and the problem (or issue, if you insist) has arisen for me only the last 2-3 months. It seems to be something in my profile...

Then you may have to try a new user account and move over.

And then there's Thunderbird...
