APPLE IPHONE 7 PLUS HELP (Small crack. Logic board problem)

Hi! My phone has been very slow since the update. I rang Apple care and they told me it could be a system problem and booked me an appointment with the Apple store. I went there and they too said they could repair it as I’m still within my one year warranty. They told me to take off my screen protector and under was a small crack on the very bottom left of my phone to which they told me I’d have to pay £169 before they could repair it. (I know this is their policy) as I wasn’t happy with this I rang a senior team member and they told me to go in and ask for a full diagnostic on the phone to see if the crack of the screen is the problem with the phone. So I did. They told me the screen isn’t the problem and my phone analytics showed I had many ‘panic alerts’ meaning it’s the logic board but still they won’t repair my phone because of the small crack. I rang another senior team member and he said he doesn’t want to guarantee but he would send photos of my phone to engineers and ring me back within 3 working days to see instead of getting my phone repaired to get is replaced instead. But he still hasn’t got back to me and I’m Stick with a dud phone and I desperately need it fixed before I go away for travel work in a few weeks time has anyone had this problem with Apple and resolved their issue!? PLEASE PLEASE HELP

If you elect to use other than Apple.

Forget any Apple warranty.

However what is the question here about "this problem with Apple"? I find they are usually spot on about repair and time required. It really can upset folk that "need it now" and I can't see a happy resolution to that one.

Out of warranty repair rates are at https://support.apple.com/iphone/repair/service/pricing

Apple problem

My problem with Apple is that every person I have spoke to has a different reason as to why I can’t have my IPhone repaired. I have always has a great experience with Apple however I feel that my situation has been handled wrong. It has taken up to three weeks to get a call back which was scheduled 3 days after I visited the store.
They have asked me what is wrong with my phone. Everything is wrong with it the only thing is working is the screen which I have to pay for to be fixed!? When it’s actually the logic board that has failed.

After reading articles and actually speaking to a Apple genius (not in store) he explained that an IPhone 7 Plus cannot be repaired only replaced. So why am I paying £169 for my screen to be repaired so they can guarantee their work when it has to be replaced anyway?

This is my issue.

I wrote this discussion to see if anyone else has had this kind of issue for advice

They can’t guarantee their work unless you arrive with an undamaged product. This is good business.

There’s no easy way to avoid such charges for repair. Always prudent to have a backup mobile on hand for just this kind of situation. Sorry Sad

I do understand this. I understand they have to guarantee their work when being repaired. My issue is that because my logic board has failed my phone is un repairable. Which they have not told me. All through this process I have been told ‘£169 is the cost to repair the screen, so we are able to guarantee our work’ which is fine.

However if they need to replace my phone what is the £169 for?
