Apple & Business People

Apple has always ignored the needs of business people and they have done so, once again, with the I Phone 3G. I was online at an Apple store to get one this morning but I asked a simple question about what the I3G could do and I was surprised, very surprised that Apple was so stupid to leave this out.

In the sync process, you can update your Outlook contacts, appointments, etc. I have a Dell X51v with MS's Active Sync and whatever you put into the syncing directory goes into the device on the next sync. So, if on my laptop I am working on a large report in MS Word and I need to send it to someone to discuss and change, there is no way that I can get that .doc file or .pdf file into the I Phone to send it. If I don't have an air card and there is no Wifi anywhere, I am out of luck. You can upload pictures and songs and movies but no files. How dumb is that.

That plus the fact that you cannot get loss insurance for the I3G, the fact that you cannot have an extra battery, the fact that there is no way to tether to a laptop, I told the guy at the Apple store, no thanks, it's not for me.
