Apple breaks my appliances!

Sep 13, 2010 2:09PM PDT

Ok.. I'm frustrated.. Not just me.. my brother as well..and my wife..and welll everyone I know that has bought an 'Ipod compatible' stereo, clock radio, portable egg wamper! ANYTHING that is made to be compatible with the IPOD is subject to apples secret agreements with manufacturers it seems. I've been burnt more than once by 'updates' that cause my "NEW" stereo/tv/wamper to quit working. This is costing me REAL money!!!

Could someone PLEASE talk a bit about WHY they are allowed to get away with this? If EXXON made gas that broke your car, they'd be out of business! I'm SICK of it.. Please, someone explain Apples immunity to culpability.

We have a variety of iPods and iPhones in our household

along with several docking accessories (sound docks, iHome alarm clocks, charging stations). Aside from the occasion warning about the iPhone's cell radio creating audio interference, I've never had a problem getting all the devices to play nice with one another (unless of course the body just doesn't fit into the dock).

Not NOT fitting....

Nope.. the Iphones and Ipod touch fit the docks perfectly. Thing is.. on 2 of these machines, the buttons stopped working and the remotes will still KINDA work the functions. One is made by JVC and another by Sony. I just don't get it..

Apple took FireWire out to save money, and some devices that used the FireWire pins to charge no longer work. I don't think it's deliberate.

deliberate..desmiberate

The problem with that idea is BOTH still charge everything just fine. They just lost all functionality when using the button controls. The JVC only charges now.. <it used to be a stereo/radio/ipod dock/tv OUT! The Sony works, but the buttons that control everything dont. If I lose the remote, I'm screwethed.
