I'm looking for an app that is very user friendly and efficient when it comes to creating project timelines. What would you recommend?

Many fall back to Excel for this.

To really get into project management is sometimes too deep for some.

So make the Gantt Chart with Excel. Well accepted method and widely discussed so I'll pause here.

Hi,
I will recommend you to use Task Pigeon app because it's easy to use app for managing your teams daily tasks and collaborate with them. Such task management app have saved lot of time and helped company people to keep their to do lists optimised and organised.

I see it is cloud based and would be a failure for us where there is no internet.
Nice try though.

Adding with edit. I just checked my moderator alerts and you spammed. If you want to promote an app, this is not how to do that as forums will catch on quickly you are a spammer.

Project Management application

There are several project management tools but the one which I find to be useful and easy to use is TaskQue, It lets you manage several projects simultaneously, you can create workspaces in it and projects in workspaces, while seperate tasks in each project can be assigned to any employee. The only problem, I encounter is privacy as it does not let you hide your project from any member because everything is visible to everybody, you have to pay for getting this feature of making your projects private and hidden from other members.

This hiding was the downfall of many projects.

I was lucky when there was a big change in big projects from hiding tasks from all but those that were assigned a task. The result was that a group didn't know what the next group really needed and produced to "spec."

The idea of compartmentalization or hiding info from the project groups lives on in some companies. But they pay for that.

Have you tried looking into Zoho Projects? They've got a beta version available if you'd like to test the waters. Workfront is also ideal in setting timelines for goals and projects.

Have a look at Workteam Planner. Ideal for assigning project tasks to different users in your organization and notifying people when project task deadlines become overdue.

Nope. Cloud based won't cut it today.

You could use Fluxes, it's a free cloud based tool. I had great success using simple spreadsheet. But that may not be suitable for everyone.
