General discussion

appdata

Hello Everyone!
Upon making some enquiries, I was informed that I need to obtain the information I require from a file in my W7 named AppData. I was instructed to go to C\Users\User\AppData.
It is not there.
Checking the Indexing Options in Control Panel, I discovered that it is the only named file under "Exclude."
For whatever reason, I can't find out how to mark it as not to be excluded.
I have tried under the "Modify" option and the "Advanced" option. There does not seem to be a direction to allow me to do this.
Can anyone give me instructions how to make this AppData file accessable in the path that I have described above?

Thank you very much in advance.

Colinito

Which file, and exclude/include in what?

What file are you looking for, and what application needs this file to be excluded or included?

C:\Users\{Username}\AppData, (where {Username} is the name of the account you logged into Windows with), can hold several folders, sub-foders and files. For example, my AppData folder contains 12 sub-folders inside it, and 498 files inside those folders.

So, more information please as it would help narrow down the possibilities.

On this machine Appdata is a hidden folder.

However if I go to control panel>folder options>view I see a box to show hidden files/folders.

If I put a tick in that box......I now see Appdata.

I just upgraded from a w98 machine....which worked great...but no updates.

Now I have a Win7 machine....nightmare from hell...but with updates.

I figure it will take me six months to get this THING semi-usable.
