Apparently Sen. Sessions has characterized Guantanamo

by Ziks511 / June 18, 2005 9:34 AM PDT

as a holiday resort for prisoners. Gorgeous location in the sunny Caribbean.

Yeah, right!

It's more like a Roach Motel. They check in but they can't check out.

Some HAVE checked out

And unfortunately went right back to the battlefield, where some of these roaches have been killed. Yay!

Sessions is right. Compared to almost any real prison in the world Gitmo IS a paradise. Probably the best living conditions these scum have ever experienced in their miserable lives. They get good food, medical care, free prayer rugs and Qu'rans (which most of them didn't have when captured by the way)

You should educate yourself on the subject before spouting off.

it and they've spent serious time in detention. I think their opinions should be listened to.

Like I said elsewhere, it's not about them, its about us, American values, American ideals, American policy are all dependent on more than the Raving Right Wing's credo "Kill them all, God will know his own". If you look bad world wide you can't accomplish anything.

How many countries will show up the next time we ask after this?

I doubt it will have any impact at all.

The reasons we didn't get support from our so-called friends is well-known and had nothing to do with any high-mindedness on their parts.

The reason this is such an issue is that shortsighted leftists are using it for politocal gain. The fact that they help the enemy and endanger our troops apparently doesn't bother them one bit.

Some have 'checked out'
by Dragon / June 18, 2005 11:41 PM PDT

But theyve gone home to tell lies about us, and to kill people. When they checked out it was under international pressure. Our mistake. We should take responsibility for it. But the international community will never acknowledge such a mistake.

"Roach Motel"?????
by Angeline Booher / June 19, 2005 3:14 AM PDT

Apparently Americans are not the only ones whose treatment of prisoners is under scrutiny.

But we don't harp on that here.

Re: Canadian military prisons:

I know that Gitmo is a detention facility rather than a prison to which the population has been sent following conviction.

But my point is to note that you called Gitmo a "Roach Motel", indicating , #1, that you choose to believe every complaint that has come from the detainees, #2., that you believe that such charges are notinvestigated, and #3., that the actions of a few of our military is an indication of a cancer on them all.
