It's less than half as good as a run of the mill laptop or phone. If there is any complaint from an owner we move to a wired connection quickly.
Now there will be clients that will not allow that and they can't be helped. They will flame on about product support and rightly so. There is no sign any of the makers will implement WiFi that is good as our run of the mill laptops. Any owner that doesn't accept that will be upset forever.
With the Boxing day sale on at BingLee in December 2017, We bought Samsung 75 inch TV 4k ultra HD ( UA75MU6103), From day one I noticed that the Wi-Fi connection is intermittent. It sometimes connects and doesn’t at times.WEIRD!
I tried troubleshooting with all advice I could get from the Internet.
Reboot the tv
Change DNS server
Buy Wi-Fi Repeater
Buy CAT6 RJ45 ( The signal was losing even when the TV was connected to LAN)
Moreover, I have an old Samsung smart TV which is using the same internet connection, same modem and has no issues.
I called Binglee and asked for a repair and I was told this needs to come through Samsung.
I reported the fault to Samsung, and a technician was arranged to visit my location.
After 4 visits the technician could not resolve the issue. The technician did mention that the whole series of the TV’ range has been reported several issues and he thinks something to do with the whole batch gone wrong. He tried changing the Wi-Fi receiver inside, changed few other things inside etc. and was all in vain.
To my surprise, he sent a report to Samsung that the TV and the modem have no issue.
I was also advised by the technician to replace the modem from the provider which I did but the issue still remains. After all these multiple attempts frustration has built up.
Now Samsung has refused to help me and If I need to get anything sorted need to PAY for a technician to come visit and create a new faulty report.
I still have the faulty TV at my home and am seeking help to get this resolved. I paid 3000$ for this beaut it is supposed to be and can assure its no way near to the quality it is advertised. I find this appalling that the customer service offered is gone LOW this level considering I have been a loyal customer to the brand since very many years. I have a 55inch Samsung 3D smart LED tv along with a Samsung sound system which I am still happy about and never had issues with. Considering that I opted to buy another TV which was the worst decision EVER!!!
