App to download & save formatted emails?

Jul 27, 2004 4:12AM PDT

I have been tasked with downloading a large number of
emails that need to be archived from a webmail server
(earthlink)

Rather than drill through each email one at a time,
I really would rather use an app (if out there)
that can take emails, format them into a readable
format, strip the headers off first and then save them.

I'm sure this is asking too much, but I thought I'd
try to ask anyway.

Thanks.

Outlook Express can "download" emails from "some" web base email services. Some web mail services offer a SMTP/POP3 service which would make downloading trivial.

What you didn't reveal if this is a zero-dollar-budget, but we'll spend as many hours as it takes task.

There are about 150 of them. Of course I could use
Outlook Express. What I was really going for was the
part about an easy way to make them readable after getting them.
