Apartment building wireless internet

by rockon1569 / January 28, 2010 12:09 PM PST

Just moved into an apartment building. Got comcast then my friend gave me a router. Plug it in, wireless works great. But i need to put a password on it. I tried logging on to the router settings (linksys) when it comes up and ask for a password I tried admin and whatnot to no avail. Tried resetting the router but nothing. Is it possible that the same router model in the building is obstructing my ability to log into my router? If so, what do I need to do? If thats not possible, what could be the problem?

Resetting the router
by Steven Haninger / January 28, 2010 6:36 PM PST

How did you do this? Each router will have a special way to reset to defaults. Then, you need to know the default password which will be in the instruction manual. No, another router in the building won't interfere with yours.

I've reset the router, and I still can't use the default password to log in. What is going on?
