AOL Security Download?

Jan 29, 2005 3:14AM PST

AOL seems to want to have me download it's new Security update. It's deposited an icon on my desktop.

I'm reluctant to download and install it becuse it includes firewall, spyware and virus protection programs, etc. I'm afraid some items in this download will cause conflicts with the firewall, spyware and anti-virus programs I already have running on my computer.

Does anyone have experieince with this particular AOL Security download? Is it safe to download and install, or should I forget about it?

Thanks.

Craig

'Course I wouldn't use AOL anyway. But since you didn't tell us what firewall, spyware blockers, or AV you're using, that's about it.

Experience with AOL Secuirty

I am going to give you my personal experience. I disableed the antivirus, and the spyware--althoug that did help because my spyware wasn't catching the programs installing themselves into my computer so it did catch that. It had problems with the Active X and the viewing a person's profile is different and the icon is always to your lef ton your start toolbar. I wouldn't recommend it. I like the Version 9.0 SE better than the security edition. Take it or leave it. hope it helps
