AOL Security Center and Firefox Mozilla Browser

I have been using AOL's Safety and Security Center without trouble for some time. However, during the most recent update, I lost my Firefox browser window (which I love using). (1) When I click on it, the mouse icon indicates that it is busy for a few seconds, but then no window appears; and (2) it does not appear in the task manager at all. However, when trying to uninstall Firefox I get the error message that it cannot uninstall because it is running. I've managed to uninstall and reinstall anyway.

I also went into AOL-S&SC programs permissions section and noted that Firefox was "allowed." No luck because it still does not work.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and found a resolution?
