Anyone use Newsvine?

Feb 23, 2006 4:44AM PST

A lot of the stories I post on here I get from Newsvine. It got me curious as to whether anyone else here uses it, and if so, what they think about it.

Personally, I like it a lot. It's digg-like, but doesn't have nowhere near as many comments that say "that's lame." Granted, it is still invite only, but will be opening up to the public shortly.

Additionally, what are some of your sources you use for your tech news? I hear boing boing being mentioned a lot from Tom, but have never been there before.

Keep 'em coming.

I agree somewhat ..

.. I do find myself reading a lot of the same stuff in the "Tech" section, but usually the world news section is very up-to-date.

Personally, I would like to see them keep it invite-only.

I love Newsvine. I agree that it's not as "fresh" as some sites, but the comments are also not at the level of digg, yet.

This may change once it becomes public but I hope not.

I agree

That's why I would really like for them to keep it invite-only. I also fear that once they open it up to the public, it will quickly become the next Digg as far as comments. Don't get me wrong, I like Digg too, and still frequent their site to get my tech news. Plus, if they kept it invite-only, then it would be much easier to weed out the problem people.
