Disregard folks.....Problem solved.
Decided to configure XP's UPS Software instead...Works fine and less of a resource hog.
Now, I don't have to let it "Bug" me. ![]()
First, sorry..I also have this query in the PC applications and Utilities forum, hoping someone can relate.
Anyway, my first unit was a 500va SERIAL model. I recently purchased a 500va USB Model.
Now the question: Both came with the exact same Software. "Belkin Bulldog Plus" (v3.2.15).
What is really strange, is that on the Serial Model, There are TWO horizontal green colored "led" type readouts on the Main page of the Software. One shows "Battery level", the other Shows "Loading level".
On the USB unit, the "Loading Level" green bar is missing.(As is the meter option for "Output Load").
In fact, HERE IS A LINK TO A PAGE TESTING A SIMILAR UNIT
Notice the first picture? Just as mine, there is just the "Battery Level 100%" horizontal green bar.
On my Serial unit, there is also a "Loading Level" bar just below that one.
(Their test picture tells me either that's just the way it is with the USB version, or they are unaware of the option)
Otherwise, the Software works fine with both units.
Do you suppose this is because of the differences between the SERIAL communication as opposed to the USB Communication?
This is really a shot in the dark because unless any of you have used the Software, you won't have any idea what I am talking about...Hopefully, someone has at least used a USB unit with this Software, and they can just confirm for me whether they have the "Loading level" Green horizontal bar on the main page, or just the "Battery Level Bar" as shown in my link above.
The Software otherwise works fine, so it appears this option is not there for a reason, but I don't understand why.
BTW...The UPS unit is the F6H500-USB
I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope someone is familiar with this Software and the (USB version) of this UPS unit.
(Sorry, I realize this is a petty complaint...I'm just a pain in the neck if I think something is missing that should be there...Besides, the amount of load on the unit is a nice thing to know).
Thanks.
