I believe cnet did a review on the acer 3d laptop a month or so back didn't really get to much thumbs up if I recall...Although they recently did a review on the Asus G51J 3d laptop with the nvidia vision kit which they prefered a lot more as well as the asus laptop is featured on the nvidia website seems cool. I think it's more a novelty though not sure if i'd want to wear glasses all the time to experience 3d but to his own I guess....

Oh i'm sorry, I didn't realize this was that old of news. I just saw it and thought it looked interesting.

You did bring up some great points though. I'm not going to want to wear 3d glasses while playing a video game...
