Web86,

Have you checked the links below:

Google Search For: "Grantsdale Chip Review"

And more importantly, since this new chip is such a new item and therefore untested by the masses, is this something you want? Personally, I like to buy something where the bugs have been worked out a little. There are never any guarantees, but "tried and true" is what I prefer...Your choice....

Hope this helps.

Grif

I have read many reviews on the chipsets themselves and I have read a few reviews on the Dell Dimension 8400 and Sony VAIO VGC-RA810G and there is honestly nothing bad that can be said about these systems. If you don't mind positioning yourself as an early adopter of the technology then I would suggest that you purchase the Dell system. My reason for that suggestion is that the Dell system will provide u with good reliability and a wide selection of options while presenting a less proprietary design than the VAIO system. However if you do decide to purchases either 1 of these systems I would highly suggest that you do a little research. Intel recently had to recall some of the mobos with the new chips for reasons that currently don't indicate a problem with the chips. Just a problem that occurred as Intel attempted to rush the products to the market. I plan on waiting a month or so to if any issues arise with the new technology. In the end I will not purchase an OEM system. I prefer to choose all of the components myself especially the mobo. Overall, these systems look stable and fully loaded. As I said earlier, the Dell would probably be the better option.

These are just a few reviews. You can find many more through yahoo/google. Good luck! BTW, up until this week Dell was running a 20% off special on the Dimension 8400 (very good deal). I'm not sure if they will run the special again anytime soon but it's something to look into if u are a budget-minded shopper.

This is just a follow up message to what I posted before. As I said before the systems seem to be stable and I have heard nothing bad about them. However, recently I seem to have looked over some posts in tech forums that I frequent. There are apparent a few bugs that need to be ironed out of the chips. Not all of the chips seem to have bugs but a lot of them do. As I said before I am going to wait it out for a month and at this time I would suggest that you do the same. You may also considering buying the parts and putting the system together yourself. Most of the third-party motherboards(not all) are still in testing and will probably will not hit the market until Intel has corrected any bugs. I totally agree with Grif Thomas. The technology is new and like with any technology there are bugs to be corrected and revisions to be made which is exactly I will be waiting a minimum of 1 month and probably 2 months before I adopt the new technology. At that point the systems previously mentioned will still be good options and there will most likely be more options on the market. Good Luck!
