Anyone purchase from USA Photo Nation before?

May 17, 2006 5:41AM PDT

I'm looking at the Canon 30D digital on this company's website. The one thing that seems to catch my eye is that they list the body as being a PC. I wasn't sure what that was so called and its a polly carbonate. Well the Canon website states the body is magnesum alloy.

Just wanted to check and see if anyone has used them before.
Thanks so much for the information and input.

Go to Google and search on ''photonation review''.

You will find more than a few upset customers.

I assume you are writing about usaphotonation.com

My advice is Run, Run, Run away quickly.

I did a Google search on that name and I saw hundreds of complaints.

Here is what epinions has to say:

http://www.epinions.com/msg/show_~threads/cat_id_~22/id_~5399/forum_id_~145

It appears to be a bait-and-switch operation.

They will not sell you a Canon 30D for $779 unless you buy over $600 in extras.

....................

When ordering from a company your do not know, first thing to look for is where are they located.
No where on the usaphotonation site do they tell you their physical address. They only show a toll free phone number and a fax number.
That is a big red flag that says "look-out"!

A bit of searching, I found their location is Jamaica, NY.
Right next to Brooklyn, NY
Brooklyn is a hot-bed of bait and swith camera stores.

They also operate under the name of radioactivedeals.

................

If you find the Canon 30D for sale at a price much less than $1,300 you need to do a Google search on the site immediately.

Thank you to the people who responded to my original message. I had gone out and read where there are a ton of unhappy people. Which made me stop in my ordering process initally, then I began to think maybe the people who were satisfied did not post, I was hoping there were happy customers out there and not everyone was unhappy.

I have decided againist ordering from them. The biggest thing that got me was the camera body differences I read about, which is what I originally noticed.

On another search I found another company called bestbuycameras.com and I called them. For the low price you will get a camera with no manuals or anything, just the body, the essentials are 199. more. I was asking the sales person about the camera and he knew nothing couldnt direct me to the camera specs on their site, wanted me to go look at Canons site for the specs. I think not, I want to know before I order.

Now I'm talking to much. Thanks for the advice and for listening.

I really would prefer to have the 30D but the 20D seems to be more in my price range. Guess I'll have to calm down and save some more $$$.

Thanks all,
