Anyone know which external HDD"s work with SciAtl Exp 8300HD

Oct 17, 2008 3:14AM PDT

I have TimeWarner running on a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD box- which apparently is expandable using eSATA ports to connect external hard drives. The manual says that only certain models of external drive will work with the box, but gives no further info. Does anyone have any experience with drives working (or not) with the 8300?

My assumption would be that basically any drive would work since I have to believe it's a more or less standard protocol if it uses a normal eSATA port and that they are just covering their asses from the odd drive that "doesn't like" the 8300, but any input is appreciated!

I asked TimeWarner and they didn't really say anything

Just the whole "well some work and some don't; we can't really give you any specific models".
