Off axis viewing on OLED won't have the issues of LCDs. Also, same for PLASMA won't have those off axis issues.
For the most part and I'm going out on the limb here is that to compare or look for flicker we have to be directly in front of the LCD screen and then go off axis to find where it starts to have issues. These can be flicker, color shifts, dimming, and all those other display issues. I can't and won't list them all.
For most viewing 60Hz is more than enough. And 24p (24 frames per second) is sufficient for movies so if you are very young you might see flickering at some particular FPS. Since no two people are the same then you can't state "anything less than X FPS is terrible."
-> Beyond the sets, LCD issues there can be source issues. I've lost count where it's a source issue that showed up even on OLED and plasma.
Hello everyone.
First time posting here, so I apologize in advance if this post appears where it shouldn't.
I've been to my local TV store today and saw a weird flickering on some of the TV's, pretty much like in this video: https://youtu.be/dADKhiyojrE?t=278 (just ignore the guy who's talking and look at the left side of the screen, next to the white football player)
Is this normal? I didn't notice this flickering on any OLED'S, so it might just be present on normal LED tv's, though I'm not sure. Bit of a nitpicky question I know, but I want to learn as much as I possibly can before I make my purchase.
Thanks in advance.
