i cant wait to buy the new archos 605 wifi, but have no idea when it will be sold in the US. if anyone has an idea, please tell me.

According to Archos European online stores, the 605 would ship out on July 15th. I would assume US customers won't have to wait much longer...
I too have been drooling over the 605 wifi. Why would they not release it in Europe and the U.S. at the same time? I hope this isn't more French anti-american-anti-french nationalism crap cuz that's getting old. Probably they just don't have production geared up enough.
A couple weeks ago I called their tech support (who also handles pre-sales) and after 36 minutes on hold the first guy wouldn't say anything. So I called back and was put on hold again for exactly 36 minutes but this time the guy told me in a really cagey way to expect late-July in the U.S., as if he wasn't supposed to say anything. I say ENOUGH!! This thing could bury any ipod out there if Archos knew how to market their stuff. The hype is almost exclusively from those of us who know; their website does little to garner interest, and their press releases are french only. It's someone else's turn to call and get an update on suspected release date.
