Folder files disappeared
Sep 24, 2015 6:43AM PDT

I have a serious problem: I have been using Incredimail v. 2 premium on a Windows 7 OS for many years. I have an important folder which held over 1,000 e-mails. For no apparent reason, all the files are now missing and the folder is empty! I have several other folders with files in them and there is no problem with them. I have a backup, but its about a year old (my mistake). Can someone please help me through recovering them. I'm willing to pay for a verifiable Incredimail EXPERT. Please contact me at 813-837-1183 or rke@tampabay.rr.com as soon as possible.

That app has been a source of trouble for a long time. Maybe if you could reveal how you backup, someone can talk about restoring from backup?

Incredimail backup
Sep 12, 2014 2:31PM PDT

incredimail program is on my laptop and it is backed up by an external HD but i do not know how to find
incredimail program on the external HD. the loss is my fault. my Identity was a very old email address and
i mistakenly hit the REMOVE command, thinking to remove the old email address, but lost the entire
contents of the program. so far incredimail tech support has had me try many differerent ID's and they have
all been either very old or contained only a couple emails. the lost program was very FULL of emails in Inbox,
sent box, delete box, as well as many folders i had added with important info i was saving. so far none of
the techniques to supplied by IM tech support to retrieve loss has been unsuccessful.

Thanks for adding that detail.

Let's see what folk have to add. for me it's all about the backup and restore system. That is, I continue to find folk that backup but can't restore. For me, my nod is to Thunderbird since backup and restore is well discussed.

There are other choices.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bat! has a link to other email clients.

The key word here is choice. For me WLM is not an option as it's done odd things over the years and we know Microsoft has their own agenda so let them deal with that. For me, at the office we use Outlook (the one that costs bucks.) For other machines it's web mail or T-bird.

Possable help

Same thing happened to me. I did a system restore and got it all back. If you or not sure how to do that. Google search System Restore Windows( ether XP ,7 or Cool.
I hope that works if not you may be in real trouble. After I lost mine paid the fee at Incredimail Backup.I have 1,000s of backgrounds saved over the years. I thank it was $10 but not sure. But it was worth it. I have 2 windows computers in my house. I do weekly back up from main one to the other just in case one has a hard drive failure. As well save the recent back up to USB Flash drive. So that is 2 extra copy's in case of loss.I also have a dog pedigree program I save the same way.But that once a month or less. Same with pictures and documents a 64 Gig Flash drive will hold a lot.Can even use a camera card if desperate.

Incredimail backup

You don't even need incredimail backup(unless you want to save just important emails). If you click on File at top left of Incredimail then select "Data and setting transfer wizard"/"export data and setting" and save to a back drive. do this once a month and no matter what happens you can restore a complete profile including email setting/address's/backgrounds/gallery/notifiers and all emails at time of backup.
Also as Debra said a system restore does restore a previous profile and has saved the day a few times. So try that first. But do your system restore in safe mode if possible. If not, disconnect from internet and turn of your antivirus just for the restore, as it can interfere with the restore process rendering it unsuccessful. But make sure you turn it back on when the PC restarts again after SR completes.

I used to use file transfer wizard but it stopped transferring my backgrounds.I have way over 1,000.Would start and run and run and just not finish..Computers or quad 4 and 8 G memory. So speed is good. When I had small amount backgrounds no problem.

Backgrounds

Understand Deb, But I use it as an email program not as a fancy background email and 1000 backgrounds is 950 to many for me so Transfer wizard does not take too long. But that's choice I suppose.

Restore
Oct 4, 2014 12:04PM PDT

It sounds like you have already created a new profile and do not wish to lose that. So-
Make a new restore point then do a system restore prior to you losing your profile. Find the emails that are the important ones you need and save to desktop.Once all important email and info recovered, then system restore back to previous. You will then be back to your now new profile with latest email and your important emails on desktop that you can now just click on to open in any email program but will default to IM.

OMG that much.

I though it was $10 when I got back up on a sale. Husband said I pain $19.99 he thanks. If I was you I would try setting wizard 1st choice or 2nd choice Computer restore point. 3rd delete Incredimail and reload after delete. Revo Free on CNET deletes all components of any program from hidden files and even registry. Just do not let computer restart to remove files until after Revo Uninstaller finishes all traces from computer .Advance system uninstaller is real good. But Revo is the best. http://download.cnet.com/Revo-Uninstaller/3000-2096_4-10687648.html
