Anyone install Firefox 1.5.0.1 yet?

Got a popup recommending it be installed quickly. I've had a notification that an upgrade was available before, but this seemed quite urgent.

I see at the website there are several security issues it addresses. Oh well, I've downloaded it, so I'll go ahead and be the guinea pig!

I also received the pop up and put it on "Minimize", then
what I always do with anything like this is look at the Virus & Security Forum to see what anyone there has to say about a update for Firefox, ZoneAlarm, and others, then go ahead and update from the pop up.

The update went smoothly last night.

No problems, and don't expect any. I've allowed myself to put confidence and trust in Firefox, and the other "upstart", AVG Free.

instead, it's installing itself right now. Just got home, just turned the computer on, just started the browser, and it is downloading as we "speak" having decided to do so itself (which I had previously authorized it to do). Let's see what happens in a few minutes after it has completed...

Version 1.5 has never worked for me. Went back to V1.0.7.

Just a simple question here.
Shouldn't this post be on the Browser Forum?

Jonah Jones, how about transferring this to the Browser Forum?

sometimes the regulars here in SE ask technical questions just to see what each other thinks about it, just like when sitting around the table in a bar, somebody might ask a serious business question just to see what their friends though about it... and then, just like the bar, we go back to arguing and throwing stuff at the TV screen and each other...

EdH, The browser forum is really interesting and has the tech stuff that the SE forum does not post here. **** filled me in.
You should visit that forum and contribute your knowledge as you do to the Graphic, as well as the Publishing Forums.
I happen to really like to view your posts there. Good info from you always!
Check out Grim's post on the Graphic Forum concerning Pros and Students using programs. You could be a great contributor on that one.
You are a pro and could help out the students

Now I can see why it was posted. Really is a speak EASY forum to contribute to.

Sorry I didn't know about it earlier. Takes a while to completely learn about the Speak Easy Forum.
I have seen some very fiery posts in the past. I read and follow them.
That's when I say to myself??SELF, do not post to this one!?

Maybe that has changed with Lee Koo intervening.

As **** said, we're sort of a family around here, so we ask each other's opinions on all sorts of matters. If it's not browsers, it's what food to serve for the Superbowl party!

If I'd had serious issues with the browser, or was looking to solve a problem, I'd certainly go and post in the Browser forum. I was just trying to get an idea of how many here had installed it, and how likely it was gonna be that I'd NEED the brower forum afterward!! Happy

No food fight from me! I wouldn't waste good food like that!
