Here's what they got in the Navy...
May 27, 2018 10:56AM PDT

all the way back to the beginning, broken down by the year and the president at that time...even though BO wasn't president in 2017, he got 'credit' for the larger increase because of the fiscal year issue. As you can see, during his tenure, the lowest increases recorded were under his watch.

https://www.navycs.com/charts/

According to my DIL, even if they got a $50 per month pay increase, it was taxed as usual, but their housing allowance was also DECREASED by $70-80 per month, so they always took a hit instead of a raise....and every time Derek got promoted in rank, all of his newer uniforms and the additional 'fruit salad' and his 'commission party' all had to be paid for by him personally.

So, any increase was taken back in expenses

Now that TheRUMP has given them a "raise" has he also changed all the other factors that take back any raise personnel get?

Has HE changed the ground rules so people that get a raise...see the money "in their pockets"?

Give with one hand take away with the other?

Make more money...puts you in a higher tax bracket,,,,you pay more taxes....there goes your pay increase...

BUT they DID get a raise in the last 10 years.....contrary to what TheRUMP claimed...

RE: the lowest increases recorded were under his watch.

BECAUSE?

You mean after the stock market crash The stock market crash of 2008 occurred on September 29, 2008. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 777.68 points in intra-day trading. Until 2018, it was the largest point drop in history. It plummeted because Congress rejected the bank bailout bill Lots of countries/people were trying to cut expenses,,,,

"Congress rejected the bank bailout bill"???

What was TARP all about then?

Trump just recently announced the pay increases for the military so we don't know yet if the housing issue will change (be lowered or stay the same). If it stays the same, then the military WILL see more in their pockets even with the taxes due for it.....that's way better than the 'take it away' crap that BO pulled. Like Bob likes to say....we'll wait and see.

It's Obama's fault/responsibility IF someone wants to have a "commission party"?

BUT they DID get a raise in the last 10 years.....contrary to what TheRUMP claimed...

And you skirted your OWN claim
May 28, 2018 3:26AM PDT

that was a LIE?????? See how easy it is to dispute something someone says, JP? You slam Trump for making a 'claim', that actually turns out to be true since it was a loss to the total paycheck for the military, but make a claim of your own that turns out to be completely untrue.

like I said

I got a raise but it wasn't enough to buy the new Ferrari I wanted, isn't a reason to claim there was NO pay increase...

Again, you skirt your claim
May 28, 2018 9:48AM PDT

and deny that Trump's claim was actually FISCALLY true....small increase in pay that gets not only wiped out by a decrease in housing benefit but that decrease is more than double what the pay increase was that also got wiped out in a tax rate increase. What 'raise' does that? Forget a Ferrari....food is a necessity....and there ended up less for that, too.

You CLAIM they didn't get a pay raise
May 28, 2018 11:05AM PDT

Then you post a link that lists the "pay raise" chart for all the way back to the beginning, broken down by the year and the president at that time.

NO mention of pay that gets not only wiped out by a decrease in housing benefit in the charts....

SO they should produce another site that displays "pay raises"...WITH the increases in expenses...so that every increase in pay is calculated AFTER expenses are figured in.

Just so everyone is on the same standard.

UNTIL then.....BUT they DID get a raise in the last 10 years.....contrary to what TheRUMP claimed..

IF you got a $5 pay raise per week
May 29, 2018 2:04AM PDT

BUT your insurance coverage from your employer but partially paid by you increased at the same time by $20 per week, so you were taking a $15 per week LOSS instead of an 'in your pocket' increase, would YOU consider that to be a raise?

RE-read my post above

and THINK...about what I said.

Forget aboot $5 and insurance, talk about the claim made by TheRUMP

they DID get a raise in the last 10 years.....contrary to what TheRUMP claimed..
