Anyone have the Wii light sabre?

Nov 30, 2008 1:03AM PST

I actually don't have a Wii, but I have a question for those who have the Wii light sabre attachment: Will it work (light up) without the Wii controller?

I have a 2- and a 3-year old boy and they're crazy about Star Wars (clone wars), and light sabers in particular. Right now they're using the bottoms of 2 toy golf clubs. I saw these wii sabers and thought they might enjoy them as a Christmas gift, but I'm not sure if they need the controller for some reason -- sharing batteries or something?

TIA.

get a normal $12 light saber from a toy store.. don't get a game related product unless you plan on getting the game and game system since those will probabbly cost alot more then a normal play light saber (which they will probabbly beat up in a month or two)

here is a wallyworld listing http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_query=lightsaber&search_constraint=4171&tab_value=38_All&ic=48_0&ref=&search_sort=4&selected_items=+

take care and "May The Force Be With You" (and for the alt lifestylers "May The Schwarts Be With You")

thanks but...

Well thanks for the advice, but I'm actually asking specifically about the wii sabres. My kids are 2 and 3... the ones you listed and the ones we've seen in stores in the store are bigger than they are and, moreover, are spring-loaded, telescoping, lamp-smashing, head-bashing fight instigators.

The wii sabres are small and they light up. Hopefully without needing the wii controller at all... which is what I'm trying to verify.

Thanks!
