Sony's seem to pass it more often. But why is likely because of Sony's holdings.
Moving on. HDMI demands a protected channel for HD video and audio. So stereo seems to pass when HD audio does not.
This is by design and can really upset folk that are trying to get around the system having a receiver for the audio.
BUT SOMETHING DOES NOT MAKE SENSE HERE. BD players don't take input of HD audio. I wonder if you left out a detail.
I've been trying to pass through 5.1 audio through the tv to a Samsung bd player (via hdmi and toslink) with a MacBook Pro 2012 and PS3. I can't seem to get it to work. Am I missing a setting?? Thanks in advance!
