Anyone ever...

heard of a len manufacture by the name of Tokina? I'm looking to replace my stock lens to suffice for my dissatisfied need and the one i have in mind is the Tokina 28-70mm F/2.8 AT-X PRO SV Autofocus Wide Angle-Telephoto Zoom Lens. I'm a little hesitant about purchasing it that is why i'm bringing this topic up.

Tokina

They've been around for quite a while. But they are not necessarily one of the top mfgrs.

Tokina lenses

I checked Canon and Nikon user groups and never did find a bad review.

It also was not praised as the only lens to get.

I think it sums up as ''if you are on a budget, it is a good lens to get.''

This lens has been around for some time and has been revised at least five times. The ProSV is the latest version.
