anyone bought noname batteries off ebay?

Nov 17, 2004 12:20AM PST

need a new batterypack for my armada e500. found some nice ones on ebay (higher capacity, about half the price of an original spare part). which is a bit suspicious. i know that the companys make a lot of money with spare parts but all the same...

thanks

I got a battery for my old armada that worked great from ebay. I got the laptop from there too. Usually you do get a good deal on batteries, AC adapters, and so forth on EBay. The generic thing, well I would expect about 90% of the retail product's performance and about 75% of the product life.

I never even gave that any consideration. I don't know of many batteries that are given to over-voltage. Though I guess that's possible, I'm pretty sure there's some kind of fail-safe.
