Anynet stopped working - PN50B860 and HT-BD8200

by animate123 / November 9, 2009 5:37 AM PST

I have a Samsung PN50B860 Plasma connected to an HT-BD8200. HDMI (fully certified cable) from soundbar to the TV and optical from TV to soundbar.

When I first hooked everything up, Anynet worked great. The two devices detected each other perfectly. Turning on the soundbar would connect it to the television. The television speaker volume would go to 0 and the soundbar volume would operate with either the television or cable box remotes.

After working for several weeks, it stopped working. I did not change cables or make any other changes. Everything else works fine, but the Anynet does not sync the television and soundbar.

Thanks for any assistance!

animate123,

Is Anynet set correctly in both the soundbar and the television?

Yes, it was configured correctly. I reseated the cable on the soundbar and it started working. Both TV and soundbar are mounted on the wall and apparently the soundbar connection somehow became loose and stopped working.

animate123,

That would explain it. Glad you found a fix.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
