Since you've told us exactly nothing about your system, how can we help. And since only Flash plays .flv files, you have other issues needing to be addressed. Read the note in Red above where you reply.

I Doubt It's The Flash Player

As mentioned by Wayne above, please tell us which system you're referring to.. If it's the same computer which has other problems you've posted above, then you need to fix those other problems first. When a streaming video won't stream, it could be a number of things including problems with your internet connection, or a need for various drivers.. Did you reinstall all drivers after you used the System Recovery disc?

As to correctly installing Flash, try the steps below:

Please try the steps below to uninstall, then reinstall the newest version of Flash Player:

Try using the newest Flash Player 10.0.22.87 version.

First, uninstall Flash by using the Flash Uninstaller at the link below..

http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14157

After that's done, then download the manual Flash player installer from the link below.. Download it to your desktop and Run it to install the newest Flash for Internet Explorer.

http://www.softwarepatch.com/internet/flash.html

Once that's done, if you're also using Firefox, visit the site below while in Firefox, then download and run the Flash plugin installer

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash&%3BLang=French&%3BP5_Language=French

Hope this helps.
