I have an hp pavilion dv4000 (which has same other model name too) laptop, and I just cant figure out how to take a screen shot, I know that the hey should be the one that says "prt sc", and I've tried it and it wont work, I've even tried it in photoshop, it will just pasted the last thing i copied.

Anybody know about it?

Try this

hit Alt+Prnt Scrn at the same time

Open paint or an email

Now past it, it's that simple. I paste them to paint and change them to jpegs, easier to email.

finally, thanks a lot i've had this latop for a year now, and i needed this so bad, and not even the idiots from hp support knew how to do it.

by the way it was fn+pt screen. Besides I've been wondering what was that fn key for, haha.

Do you know of any other use for it?

thanks a lot, that could have saved me some much work if i knew about it before, but it will definately do now.

thanks again, Marcelo.

the Fn key

on laptops is used for any key that has a special key such as your pt screen, other special keys can include volume up nd down, brightness of screen, media player controls, etc. . The Fn key is color coded and any keys on the keyboard with same color will do something as long as Fn key is pressed at the same time.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
